Drugs For Erectile Dysfunction – Which Ones Should You Use?

One problem that most males are afraid of is having erectile dysfunction. What is erectile dysfunction? This is when males could not have an erection, thus preventing them from having sexual intercourse. Erectile dysfunction is also sometimes referred to as ‘impotence’. Men who experience this are usually around 40 years old and above. The reasons vary. It could be from having a disease or even as simple as smoking.

There are three major drugs for erectile dysfunction that were approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). These are Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis. These three vitamins are classified as phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitors. The best time to take in these vitamins is from 20 minutes to 1 hour before intercourse. The effect could last for 3 hours at the least and 36 hours at the most.

Viagra (Sildenafil) became popular a few years ago. It hit the news-and the market-hard. This is because it is the very first drug for erectile dysfunction. FDA approved this drug in 1998, and after that, many other kinds of drugs followed its lead. One can only intake 50mg of this vitamin. However, in special cases, the physician may prescribe more than this amount (e.g. 100 mg), depending on the patient’s overall health condition. Studies show that it is okay to use Viagra if you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, prostate problems and depression. You can take Viagra at low dosage even if you take drugs called alpha-blockers. These are medicines for prostate diseases or high blood pressure. However, you should not, AT ALL, use Viagra if you have daily or not-so-often doses of medications which have nitrates (e.g. nitroglycerin). Hormone balance

Levitra (Vardenafil), the second most popular drug for infertile dysfunction approved by FDA, makes muscles more relaxed and circulation of blood easier to certain parts of the body. Take Levitra as prescribed by your physician. It could have serious effects if you did not follow instructions such eye problems and muscle and back pains. You can take Levitra with water, with or without food and 60 minutes before engaging in sexual activity. Before you take in Levitra, inform you doctor if you have any diseases or illnesses because you might not be allowed to use Levitra or your physician may adjust the amount of this drug. Like Viagra, you should not take in Levitra if you are taking in nitrate medicines.

The third FDA-approved drug for erectile dysfunction is Cialis (Taladafil). This medicine can only be taken once a day, within a 24 hours interval. You can also take Cialis with or without food. This drug for impotence can make you ready for sexual intercourse anytime, if you are following a daily dosage. Same as Viagra and Levitra, you should not take Cialis if you are using nitrate-based drugs. It could have adverse effects such as dizziness or even heart attack. It is also not advisabl to use Cialis if you are taking in ‘poppers’ like amyl nitrite and butyl nitrite. ‘Poppers’ are recreational drugs
